Hanging by a Thread

Starting bid: $250.00

Hanging by a Thread No. 1 is a 7.5 inch tall by 14.5 inch wide kiln-formed and draped glass piece of sculptural art by Licha Ochoa Nicholson. Numerous thin layers of glass rods are carefully kiln-fired into a flat panel at 1400 degrees Fahrenheit. After the layers of thin glass rods melt to one solid glass piece, the panel is then draped over a stainless steel mold to form its one-of-a-kind shape and design. The entire process to create this sculpture in a kiln takes approximately 36 hours.
