This work of craftsmanship and art is a spalted sweet-gum wood bowl by legendary woodturner, Philip Moulthrop. Spalted means, “containing blackish irregular lines as a result of fungal decay, and sometimes used to produce a decorative surface.” The bowl was created in 2009 and is 9 inches tall with a diameter of 8.5 inches. The bowl is signed and inscribed on the bottom by the artist.
